2 Dracaena Variety Pack - 4" Pot

Dracaena massangeana (Dracaena fragrans ‘Massangeana’), often called the Corn Plant, is native to the tropical forests of West Africa, from Guinea to the Congo. It prospers in consistently warm, humid climates where rainfall is frequent and sunlight filters through tall forest canopies. The plant does not tolerate cold; it is a species of the equatorial belt.

In its native range, mornings begin with mist rising from damp soil. Insects move in swarms, and the calls of hornbills echo above. Dracaenas grows slowly, its woody cane pushing upward while rosettes of arching leaves spread from the crown. The leaves are glossy, striped in green and yellow, channeling water toward the stem. When mature, it may produce fragrant, star-like flowers at night, visited by moths. Local traditions once placed it near homesteads for its enduring growth and air-purifying qualities.

Its form is orderly: upright cane, cascading leaves, a balance of strength and softness. The texture is firm, the coloration steady and reassuring.

Psychologically, dracaenas convey patience and reliability. The steady guide—calm in the face of passing storms, content to grow slowly, yet always upright. A reminder that constancy itself is a form of strength.
