Orchid 'Purple Phalaenopsis'

Moon Orchid (Phalaenopsis amabilis), also known as Moth Orchid or The Lovely Phalaenopsis, is native to the humid lowland forests of Southeast Asia, from Indonesia and the Philippines to northern Australia. It grows high among trees or on limestone cliffs, where filtered sunlight moves like water and the air is dense with warmth and mist. Rain gathers and dries in rhythm, and each root clings to bark or stone, drawing sustenance from the thin film of life that coats every surface.

This species is the archetype of its genus—graceful, poised, and enduring. Its broad, leathery leaves form a quiet base from which long, arching stems rise, bearing blooms that seem to float in midair.
